Tucker, Harlan Winthrop, 94, a 53-year resident of Bowie, MD, passed away suddenly on June 17, 2017. Born on April 15, 1923, in Fairplay, CO, Col. Tucker was a graduate of West Point in 1946, and received an MBA from Harvard University in 1949.

He served his country for 30 years, during WWII, Korea, and in Vietnam, where he earned a bronze star. During his military career, he served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. After retirement, he worked for Unified Industries, Inc. and Legion Design.

Tucker, Harlan Winthrop, 94, a 53-year resident of Bowie, MD, passed away suddenly on June 17, 2017. Born on April 15, 1923, in Fairplay, CO, Col. Tucker was a graduate of West Point in 1946, and received an MBA from Harvard University in 1949.

He served his country for 30 years, during WWII, Korea, and in Vietnam, where he earned a bronze star. During his military career, he served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. After retirement, he worked for Unified Industries, Inc. and Legion Design.
Col. Tucker lived a full life; he was inducted into the Quartermaster Corps Hall of Fame; he medaled in the National Senior Olympics in softball and tennis; and received numerous awards for his volunteerism and community service, including the Governor's Volunteer and Service Award, Prince Georges County Volunteer of the Year, and Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame.

He was also a member of the VFW Post 8065, Maryland Recreation and Parks Association, Bowie Recreation Council, Bowie Gold Softball, Friends of Patuxent Wildlife Refuge and was the chairman of ushers at Holy Trinity Church. He truly enjoyed his family, his sports and his volunteering.
Col. Tucker is survived by his daughters, Linda Randall of Clarksburg, MD and Susan LaRocca of Gaithersburg, MD, his sister, Beverly Carter of Fort Sumner, NM, five grandchildren, Albert Randall, Jr, Susan Randall, Emily Alwood, John LaRocca, and Michael LaRocca, as well as his three great-grandchildren Allison Randall, Leah Randall, and Hannah Alwood.

The family invites friends to a visitation to be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD. A VFW Service to be held during the visitation at 8 PM. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 13106 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD at 12 noon. His interment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Barbara Tucker.
